We all backed a winner last night at our meeting with a horsey theme. What was your highlight?

The Symposium raised lots of issues around Steeple Chasing. Sheila did a great job presenting an unpopular viewpoint, despite the interruptions. Mr Ed was hands down the winner for ingenuity, but I’m not rushing out to buy any of his inventions.
I have to confess not really giving much thought to Steeple Chasing and its implications but after the Symposium, I am definitely against it. I don’t hold any faith in Mr Ed’s inventions! But if there were points for interuptions he would be the winner!
Well Hello, a horse is a horse of course of course and what a wonderful evening it was. I really enjoyed Belinda’s Poetry Reading “The Geebung Polo Club” and I learnt so much more about the Melbourne Cup with our Trivia quiz.
The “guest speakers” handled all interruptions and even heckling with aplomb. Not a situation the members are normally having to cope with, so great experience. I think “Mr Ed” needs to be nobbled! What great fun. More food for thought with Joy’s speech about Jesse Owens.
